I keep thinking something has got to give with this smartphone-addicted society many of us live in. Children are missing out on core experiences in their youth, and their parents aren't parenting because they'd rather be scrolling through meaninglessness. I honestly often self-soothe from a busy day by plugging in- sometimes by reading news, but often not. And ask me about the factoids and news updates I read about on my information highway access the night before. I will not be able to remember one article. It was once so promising to be able to access a search engine at our fingertips- how worldly and knowledgeable would we become! Not the case.
Why are we doing this to ourselves? What will be the straw that breaks the camel's back, which hopefully transports us back to an interactive, engaging life with the world around us and not just with a small rectangle, inches from our face?
