Good show. The Christmas traditions were interesting.
The discussion on friendship and intentional compassion hit home. Technology has changed the culture. K mentioned he sent a group text. Good. But what would have happened 50 years ago? 100 years ago? How would a similar situation be handled? I see something like the final scene in “It’s a Wonderful Life”, where even the bank inspectors donate to help George.
A group text IS GOOD. But the same technology isolates us. We have the world in our hands; the dictionary, encyclopedia, Bible, literature from any author, videos and radio broadcasts, and even pod casts to inspire us. Why bother going out when I can be intellectually stimulated on my couch?
We need human contact. And not just the same small group of humans, but a random variety as well.
