Pale Rider

As we enter Lent, Things to Think On

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death

Aside from Revelations 6:8, I wish I knew who created this picture so that I could give credit where credit is due.

I like it for several reasons. First, the juxtaposition of the cute kitten on a unicorn with rainbow mane and tail, with the rather alarming quote from Revelations made me laugh.

Second, after thinking about it, I realized that to many below a certain age, or spared tragedy, Death is something not quite real and certainly nothing they need to ponder deeply. They kind of see it as a fluffy kitten.

But, as we are reminded on Ash Wednesday, everyone dies. Memento mori.
