CARROLLTON, Texas - Cradle of Civilization, (Feb 29, 2024) - I read a book some years ago titled The March of Folly. Subtitled From Troy to Vietnam, I bought the book because the author spent a great deal of time discussing the “bad popes” of the 16th century and, being Catholic, I was curious about them. There were roughly 6 popes, almost in a row, that it can be argued ushered in the Protestant Reformation. The premise of the book:
Why indeed.
I think the fall of Tammany Hall is an example of unbridled greed and corruption and the inverse square effect it has on intelligence. And I think today’s Democratic Party Machine is another.
What prompted this article is an Italian TV show’s portrayal of President Biden. In what I can only call “funny, not funny” the portrayal is barely a parody. In fact, I would argue that it rises to the level of mocking the handicapped. See for yourself:
I hope this gives you pause. This is from an ally country. What do China and Russia think? It makes me very very nervous.
I have seen no sign that the Democrats are looking for any options to Biden/Harris. What I do see is conspicuous absence of Harris on any media at all, and of course they can hardly keep trotting out this shell of a politician. But it appears that he is the Democratic nominee. And my brain falters.
And I have got to ask, “What is the Democratic Political Machine Thinking?” Or, to put it succinctly, WTF?! It is hard to see this bizarre “stay the course” mentality as anything other than a march of folly.
At this point in time, if the Democrats would put forward a moderate centrist candidate like Bill Clinton of old, I would have to vote for that person over Trump. I’m not excited by Trump at all as I note in a previous article. I am alarmed at a Vindicated Trump in the White House, but seriously. How can anyone vote for Biden?
I think the particular fallacious argument in play is, “He beat Trump once, he can do it again.” Yeah, no.
Here’s a call to action: Hey Democrats, find an actual candidate. Please.

Mark,
I will grant that Biden seems old. Biden is old, and actually that meme was hilarious.
I’ve been trying to think of what to say of what I know, or what I think I know.
Suffices to say, Biden is harmless and Trump is not.
The truth is, I haven’t been paying a lot of attention to Biden. Probably no more than you do our current Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and toward the end, I disengaged from world politics when it concerned Trump.
I’m gonna make a statement here now and I can’t back it up.
My feeling is Trump is dangerous.
What the world thinks about Biden apart from the meme you sent I have this link for you. It’s just one link. Perhaps it means nothing , on the scale of things. But I live over here. Nobody talks about Biden.
Everybody talked about Trump and not in a good way.
Trump has managed to get under the skin and involved in areas that have massive influence on the entire world. ( I won’t quantify at this time)
His influence is shocking, in my opinion, given how very right wing and isolationist he ,’appears ’ to be... ‘America first’ et cetera.
I say, ‘ appears to be’, because that man will do anything, say anything, act anyway, if it will glean him some sort of influence, power or excuse. It is appalling behaviour. I don’t think you can say that about Biden.
This morning I read’The Emperor’s New Brain’… I assume this is in reference to Biden.
I believe it could easily read as a reference about Trump. If he did not have the support that he has, he would not be in the running as the next president of the United States.
