What is the De-Crapinator™?
Well, you read something, you scratch your head, and you think, “Something’s off here. But I can’t quite put a finger on it.” Enter the De-Crapinator™. If you ask a question, I will pour it into the De-Crapinator™, and I will find the results, and I will post the results in the GLOB.
If you have something that needs to be de-crapinated, you can go HERE to ask for de-crapination.
Meanwhile, I had promised to get to the bottom of a statement made by President Biden in his SOTU address, vis “The pandemic no longer controls our lives. The vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat cancer.”
It took the Global Exclaimer’s patented De-Crapinator™ .05 milliseconds to return the result - which will take a bit longer to Exclaim.
Please note that the above statement, “The vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat cancer.” is from the prepared speech transcript. This was “fact checked” by NewsWeak:
Here is their ruling:
Note, solidly True, not even needing context.
Now, note these, umm contextual statements:
However, research since the pandemic has found that the technology used in the COVID vaccines may be useful in the treatment of other life-threatening illnesses and conditions.
In August 2023, Biden announced the launch of a new program to develop messenger RNA (mRNA) technology, the same technology used in COVID-19 vaccines, to train immune systems to "fight cancer, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases more effectively."
The $24 million "Curing the Uncurable via RNA-Encoded Immunogene Tuning" or CUREIT will investigate how "mRNA and related technologies" can trigger immune responses, such as prompting immune cells to target and attack tumors.
All of which very specifically addresses the technology of mRNA and its potential, and NOT the COVID vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna.
Another quote from NewsWeak:
Interest in mRNA research has exploded since the pandemic with global trials underway that will examine whether an mRNA treatment can be used to treat melanoma, lung cancer, and other cancers.
Again, trials are underway “that WILL EXAMINE WHETHER…” mRNA can be used…
The following is the closest comment that may indicate anything has actually been done to “beat cancer.”
Studies have already found that personalized mRNA vaccines may help trigger anti-tumor responses. A 2023 study funded by the National Institutes of Health found a strong anti-tumor immune response among half of a group of pancreatic cancer patients who were given an mRNA vaccine.
Now to be fair, I googled the study referred to above. It is both hopeful and exciting to think that purpose built vaccines could be developed to “beat cancer.”
You should know that by “half of the group” is meant exactly 8 people out of 16. Still, the potential is very encouraging. However, this vaccine is a personalized vaccine, meaning built to order for each person and not available at CVS. So, we are a long ways away, and no, this was not the COVID vaccine.
And then, and this is rich, NewsWeak concludes:
While some researchers have looked at tumor regressive responses to COVID-19 vaccines in animal or small-scale human observation, it seems that only a bad faith or narrow interpretation of Biden's comments could have driven the idea that he was literally referring to the treatments developed by Pfizer, Moderna and others, and not new technologies.
Bad faith or narrow interpretation. Like paying attention to the words used?
And NewsWeak doubles down on this:
The comments about Biden appear to be a literal interpretation of his words i.e. that the exact same vaccines used to treat COVID-19 will be used to treat cancer too
Oh, do you mean a literal interpretation of these words?
“The vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat cancer.”
So, how are we to interpret his words if not literally? According to NewsWeak, “literally” = “a bad faith interpretation.” Because CLEARLY what he meant to say is that mRNA technology may potentially be used in triggering an immune response that will teach the body to target tumors.
So remember kids, when you hear “COVID vaccine” that simply means “mRNA technology.” When you hear “now being used to help beat cancer” that clearly means (and aren’t you ashamed) “studies are under way to see if this technology may be efficacious in triggering an immune response that will target tumors.”
Well, to quote Biden:
I would have liked to see NewsWeak comment at the least that this statement needed context. Because it does, and also, it would be useful for the general public to know what is being done with this technology.
One word of caution though.
In half these patients, the vaccines activated powerful immune cells, called T cells…
T Cells. Are they the basis of the T virus in Resident Evil? Well, since that was a Japanese horror game (AKA Biohazard) a survival horror and 3rd and 1st person shooter game, I mean, it’s not real, right?
Considering this frightful election year, is the glass really explicitly half full, or half empty?
